I get to choose when my two 15 minute breaks and my 30 minute lunch is every day where I work. I like to work the entire day without break or lunch and then take a single 30 minute break at the very end of the day, and then have lunch immediately after. Everyone else is fine with it and my manager seems to think its funny. It works for me

Standard is fifteen minutes every two hours at my place. With thirty minutes for lunch. Three breaks for the eight hours. Anyone can call for a "restroom break" if necessary. Production is constant, but we have relief personnel who are skilled and trained to do any job on the floor. It works pretty good.

A short break about every 2 hours has been the rule of thumb in most places I've worked and that seems reasonable. We really needed it in the factories I've worked in. On my last job, I generally worked for four and took and hour for lunch and worked another four before taking a short break and was fine with that. We often worked extended hours but I enjoyed the work and didn't need breaks as frequently as in the factories.
