You can soak in a bathtub of warm or hot water to get some relief. You can use moist tissue, rather than dry, to clean yourself after going to the bathroom to avoid unnecessary irritation. [The above is from personal experience.] Apply Aloe Vera gel directly on the anus, relieves pain and soothes the burning sensation. Use Bayberry, goldenseal root, myrrh, and white oak in a salve form to relieve pain in the hemorrhoids. Brew a strong, warm tea using Lady's mantle ( yarrow ), and apply to the hemorrhoids with a cotton ball several times a day or as required. Apply Witch hazel with a sterile cotton pad, 3 times daily to shrink the swollen veins. Take Buck thorn bark, collinsonia root, parsley, red grape vine leaves or stone root either in capsules or tea form. They are also good for the treatment of hemorrhoids. To keep the bowels clean use Cayenne ( capsicum ) or garlic enemas. They relieve pain caused by hemorrhoids. [SOURCE of the above: http://www.homemademedicine.com/hemorrhoids.html] There is a long, bizarre list of treatments at http://www.fatfreekitchen.com/home-remedy/hemorrhoids-piles.html, but I was unable to copy it for you. BIG DEAL: If you find almost-constant bleeding is taking place, you MUST see a doctor. The bleeding could be internal, in a place you can't treat yourself. And you could become anemic or worse if you don't treat the problem properly. NOTE: Treatment does NOT always require surgery.

Yoga can be helpful. Certain postures mainly the topsyturvey postures like Head stand or Shoulder stand are recommended. Learn under proper guidance. The cure is permanent.

I haven't cured hemorrhoids but do control them with 1.) high fiber diet, I aim for 30 grams a day 2.) drink more water 3.) stop straining on the toilet 4.) reduce inflammation and swelling with cotton balls soaked in castor oil, apply to area of hemorroids, leaving the cotton balls in place overnight. Hope this helps.

Treatment also depends on whether or not they are internal or external, internal ones are a little harder to treat. I just went through this with my room mate, he drives truck for a living and sitting constantly is not a good thing!!! Neither is hibernating in the bathroom with a magazine, get in and get out. We found soaking in a sitz bath was very helpful along with the OTC products you can buy. However if it will not go away no matter what, you are gonna need to get to the doc. Change your diet to include more fiber, it's really important for your colon and also helps soak up extra acid in your stomach that your body absorbs and converts to fat. Lifestyle changes are needed for chronic problems. Good luck.

My midwife recommended to me (after my 2nd child) egg white beaten, chilled and then dabbed on with cotton balls, it certainly helped (sounds really strange repeating it now, though lol)

For relief of the pain, soak in a hot as you can stand bathtub with just enough water so that your anal area is submerged. Add about a quart of apple cider vinegar. Do this as often as needed. Use wipes created for hemmoroids or make your own with tissue and witch hazel. Honestly though, the only way to get rid of them is to eat more fiber filled food and drink your 8 glasses of water a day every day. I lived with them for three years (THE HORROR) and I had to learn the hard way. Good luck!

Kegels yo, you gotta do them, most people don't even after they are told to by a doctor, my wife is a doctor, and she tells me all the time that her patients tell her they don't do them even after she told them to do them, the lack of a good strong pelvic floor is a huge cause of hemorrhoids...there were some good remidies in the other answers as well

try laying off the caffeine for a few days. A doctor told a friend of mine that and she said it worked!
