  • You don't seem to understand the concept of a statute of limitation. A statute of limitation is the time in which the state has to bring charges against you. If you received a ticket, the charges have been brought.
  • Firstly: The person answering you as "anonomous" is not correct. The citation is only a summons or the "arrest". The point when you plead guilty or not guilty is when you are charged, called arraignment or pre-trail. The space between these two dates are written on the citation and must fall within the statue of limitations for the specific municipality and state which issued it. Check with a local lawyer for this information. The generally don't charge you for this. Good luck.
  • To clarify my answer: It is not the "statue of limitation" you are looking for, it is the limit for a speedy trial. Generally 90 to 180 days for a speeding ticket.
  • Answer number 3 is correct. In addition, many counties in Colorado have started reporting unpaid speeding tickets or any traffic violation, for that matter of fact, to credit agencies and these will show up on your credit report. I didn't know that another person had used my stolen driver's license for a speeding ticket and I found out when it showed up on my credit.
