Let me put this as clearly as I can: NO PART OF THE HUMAN BODY IS PART OF THE BAT!!!!!! If the batter is attempting to hit the ball when it hits him then it is simply a strike. However, if the batter is struck by a pitched ball it is an immediate dead ball and the batter is awarded first base. Doesn't matter if the ball hits him in the head, butt, foot, finger, groin, or wrist!!!!!

"He said the wrist is part of the bat." The wrist, fingers, and hands are part of the player's body. They are no more a part of the bat than the player's foot, head, or rear end. The "hands are part of the bat" is a myth. If a pitch touches a batter, by rule the ball is immediately dead. If the batter is attempting to hit the pitch or the pitch touches the batter when the pitch is in the strike zone, the ball is dead and the pitch is a strike. It cannot be a batted ball so it cannot be ruled a foul or fair ball.
