I know when I was very little, my grandmothers rose garden in London was covered in them. I think there are good seasons and not so good seasons for them - I still see them every summer - but may only see a few rather than hundreds. Global warming? A pest that has actually succumbed to pesticide? Maybe, as adults, we just don't notice them as much anymore?
