  • --i imagine the first thing is to check out licensing requirments with p.u.c and related govt. agencies, then your license to operate a taxi, assuming you have the vehicles they would need to be licensed and insured, i am pretty sure the insurance rates would be awful high for yourself, drivers and the public, then i would make sure i had a few bucks stashed away to cover unforseen and foreseen events. i would guess that you would have to prove financial rsponsability anyway. the first place i would call is the public utilities commission and take it from there, also have atorney on retainer to help you through govt. red tape and for your protection. having a friends in the right places would help. i have never owned a taxi company but have owned businesses that needed these sort of things. good luck. not to sound negative but, i would think awful hard about this, a lot of headaches involved not to mention having to deal with the public which is also very hard.---& nowdays everyone is lawsuit happy & looking for something for nothing.
  • I would join the Taxi-L list on Yahoo. It will give you an education.
