So far the consensus is Bo Diddley's passing. He was one of the rock pioneers along with Little Richard and Chuck Berry. He was the first African-American artist to appear on the Ed Sullivan show. That was 1955 and f***n Sullivan got angry because Bo did two tunes instead of just one.
