Did you know that if you car is overheating, you should pull over and turn on the heater to cool it down?

Yes I did. I've owned MANY c**ppy ones and actually drove 400 miles in 80 degrees with the heat on just to get home once. No,I'm not kidding.

Not exactly. Try to achieve high speed, open all of the windows, and turn on the heat full blast. The air rushing through the engine bay helps cool it down, and the heater core expels some of the heat from the coolant.

Pulling over is like turning off the fan in a room.

- I'd pull over, kill the motor, and turn the heater on full blast. And immediately call for a tow truck. Excessive overheating will ruin your rods, valves, and valve seats. Probably the half-moon inserts as well, and may blow the head gasket or crack the head, or both.

- You don't need to be a mechanic to add coolant. If you can pump gas you should be able to figure it out.
