If your interested in 'The Davinci Code', I would recommend you to read 'Angels & Demons' first because it is the pre-quel and in my opinion, the better of the two.

the book was medicore. the characters were flat and there was almost no discernable plot. i think the only reason it became such a big success is the ignorance most christans have about the history of the church.

Not really. I read the book and it was alright for a trashy light-hearted thriller, but I don't get why everyone took it so seriously or claimed it changed their life or anything. And the film was pretty terrible.

I thought the book was great fun -- suspenseful and challenging. I wasn't all that wild about the characters, but they were interesting. It'a page-turner, and the ideas are certainly worth contemplating.

Reading it you will be intrigued as long as you do not know history of the subject.

The book was decent it was something that kept you interested and wanting to read more. I am a fan of puzzles and that may be why it appealed to me.

The book is pretty good, in my opinion, but, of course, there will always be better.

The book was good, but his previous novel "Angels and Demons" was better, and has similar themes, and the same central character.

The book was FANTASTIC. I very much enjoyed it.

The movie was a HUGE disappointment. To begin with, Ron Howard was a poor choice for director. This was not the genre of film that Ron Howard excels in. It was also horribly miscast with Tom Hanks in the role of Robert Langdon, though I thought Audrey Tautou was well cast as Sophie Neveu. And then it just got worse from there.

Watching the film and how shallow the production was gave me the feeling that it was a rush job getting it done by whatever the deadline was, like they were under the gun or something.

Also, I thought that the potential was there for a really wonderful musical score, given the location of the shoots, and the wonderful backdrops and scenery, but YAWN. What a bore it turned out to be.

Two thumbs down on the whole production.

I read it, it was a good read but you need to stick with it until the end for it to make real sense. I would give it 4 stars for entertainment and 3 stars for writing and 5 stars for storyline, cos lets face it, what a storyline!

I really enjoyed the book, as I have with all Dan Brown's novels.
    The movie was 'ok'.

No. It is a page turner, keeps you busy for a few hours or so but is total twaddle.

And the film was just boring.
