Had the same issue with mine , changed injector with salvage one and still leaks , so might wanna try replacing the hold down .

I also have a '96 cavalier. I'm having a similar problem except I beleive mine is leaking around the plastic on the top of the injector. There is some weather cracks there. You may wan't to check yours to. As far as o-ring placement I use vasoline to install them it works well. I've also registered at autozone.com there is a section that is called MYZONE you just enter your vehichle's. It will tell you recalls and service bullitens but most importantly there is vehichle specific repair manuals. best of luck

You're reading I have a 1996 chevy cavalier. One fuel injector is leaking gas. I replaced the o-rings twice. Lasts about two weeks. Is there a special way they go in?
