In your opinion, who was the best vocalist in Iron Maiden: Paul Day, Dennis Wilcock, Paul Di'Anno, Bruce Dickinson or Blaze Bayley?

i saw them on the "powerslave" tour...dickinson rocks...for me, three of the greatest metal albums of all time were those first three that he sang on..."number of the beast", "piece of mind", and "powerslave"...

Bruce Dickinson is by far the most recognizable of those and for obvious reasons of longevity and producing the most songs with them. Althought the first two full albums which Iron Maiden released were excellent with Di'Anno singing, Dickinson IS the Maiden singer, he gives the songs an identity, more character, a more powerful voice.

I like Di'anno. He gave Maiden a punk feel with his vocals. Dickinson was too operatic for me.

For me it's Dickinson easily. Di'Anno was a good vocalist but perhaps a bit limited, whereas Dickinson has a huge range and more powerful voice too.

Bruce Dickenson. It's too bad his solo work has been pretty much ignored in the US.
