I would say I'd like to go back to Hawaii to live. I've lived in both and am currently in Japan. Japan is a safer place but both are expensive to live in. There are a lot of Japanese in Hawaii and there are a lot of Nigerians in Japan for some reason.

I lived in Hawii for 3 years in the Military, I loved it and miss living there. I also lived in Korea for 2 years. I'd go back in a minute to both places. I have fondness for the Orient. I love the food!

Honestly I would live in Japan. I've lived in both but Japan is more fun, esp. from a girls perspective. I love going shopping and their clothes fit me better. Oh and the food is amazing! Cost of living is very expensive but I would say it is worth paying for it in Japan rather than in Hawaii. I have heard Hawaii is not as safe as before.

Japan would be better, technology and vacation. Hawaii, just vacation. Japan has one of the brightest and crowded cities at night and a lot cooler people because of their drifting actions at the streets.

i really want to go to Hawaii, Maui in particular, because it's suppose to be the most beautiful of islands. and I've seen pictures and movies based in hawaii! and i think it would be a great experience.
i never really thought about going to japan, but maybe sometime after i go to Hawaiii :) :)

I Would say Hawaii. Japan has the language barrier. Although both places would be awesome to visit. Maybe while in Hawaii I would run into Dog The Bounty Hunter and his family.:)

That's a tough question since I would like to go to both, so if I had to choose only one, I would choose Japan. Japan is likely to be the least like where I live now, so it will be a more enriching experience.
