I love eating leftovers. In fact, I am chomping on some of yesterday's pizza this very minute. The food that tastes better the next day is the food that wasn't allowed to simmer in it's spices/flavorings long enough the first time. When you heat it up the next day, it is truly "done" and better. Most food can use a little perking up the second time around, grated cheese, condiments (ketchup, mustard), some fruit compote. Edit: fruit compote recipe 1 bag frozen peaches 2 fresh plums, pitted and sliced 1 tablespoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla Place all ingredients in a zip-top bag and toss to combine. Microwave for 2 to 5 minutes, depending on your microwave, until softened and juicy.

Some leftoves taste better than freshly prepared. Shepherd`s pie for example. Also mash potatoes. I purposely make too much mash potatoes so that I can have fried mash the next day for breakfast. Leftovers are tasty.

I love leftover spaghetti, by then the sauce has had time to sink into the pasta!! And of course leftover pizza is awesome!
-
Actually when it comes to pasta I do and in fact it tastes better because the sauce gets to marry into the pasta which helps bring out a fuller flavor. If it's something my mother gave me from a holiday meal, you bet I'm interested in some leftovers.

I don't like leftovers. I prefer fresh foods. Although sometimes pizza isn't too bad re-heated.

I love leftovers because usually the first time around was excellent. Some taste even better, especially things like stews, chilies, some soups. There are a few foods that do not taste better or are terrible the next day so we don't bother keeping them or make sure not to make too much for the first day, like Fries.

I'm gonna get semi-scientific on you here: I think, I think, I think (but I'm no scientist so I'm not exactly sure) that anything containing tomatoes, meat, cheese and probably a whole slew of other ingredients tastes better the day after because it will contain more naturally occurring MSG - it will be more 'umami'. Besides salt, sweet, sour and bitter there is umami, which is what generally makes meat taste so good - and parmezan cheese, and oyster sauce. It's in tomatoes as well, but it takes a lot of (slow) heating to bring it to the surface. So the longer you heat tomatosauce, or if you wait a day and reheat it, the tastier it becomes. Google 'umami' and be amazed... I'll never cook the same again now that I found out about this!

I think that leftover Lasagne when it has been reheated the next day, the flavours have time to infuse into the lasagne sheets. Also with butter chicken, the sauce is absorbed more into the chicken.
-
i don't mind leftovers...the only leftover that tastes better the second time is lasagne though...otherwise i'd much prefer food that's just prepared...
-
I love me some leftovers! And I tend to eat them cold and not reheated : ) [insert your "ew" here, haha]

Yes I do, some dishes require at least a 6h rest so that the full flavor can be appreciated! :)
