Here's my serious answer. It cost tons of money to publish and distribute a book and books which are highly specific such as the type you are suggesting probably lose money. It isn't profitable to do it. There is little interest in specific things but it's amazing that a Harry Potter book can't be printed fast enough.

There isn't that much to write about it. Much less than for quartz or any rocks created by geologic events. Petrified wood is a fossil of wood. The process is amazing, yet fairly simple. When you have described the process and the various types of woods and minerals involved, there is little else to say. I would suggest that if you see a lot of information lacking on the subject, write a book!
