If it is on your gameboy you may need to clean the cartridge, the connector where it goes, or possibly get a new cartridge altogether. If it's online on an emulator you got a bad version.

this happened to my friend. what you need to do is double save at every pint you save at instead of once

You might have spilled something in it or the game is faulty. Take it to any game store and get it fixed. Problem solved!

That happened to me i got all freaked out and though omg whats happin then i blowed into my ruby game then into me gba and it worked so try it i m garretied it will work

This could be from the glitch that makes the clock not work. no plants grow, the time never changes, it never gets dark, etc, but it says the file is currupt most of the time, but it still should work. then try blowing on the cartige and GB, it may have gotten dusty, or try to get a new one, as long as it has been less than 90 days it is still under warranty

I would try cleaning it by putting some rubbing alcohol on an ear cleaning thingy (whatever they're called) then whipe it inside the cartridge. It not you probably glitched up your game somehow, not much you can do about that.

it happened to me but then it was a sapphire i tried the double save thing, it worked so I try the game i keep doing the double save thing till It stops saving again and I qui trying.Maybe it is pirated look at the back of the cartridge where it says nintendo.check if it really says nintendo..

Another possibility is that the save was disrupted in progress. It says "Saving--Do Not Turn Off Power". If you do, or the cartridge is removed while saving, the file will be corrupt. A bad contact may be at fault. Or, it could be dirty (smoke, dust, food, etc.) A good way to prevent this is to store all cartridges in a plastic Zip-Loc bag when not in use, and to always keep a cartridge in the machine. This will keep dust out of the contacts.
