Never spent much time in the state. Spent time on the river fishing and would like to travel it on a paddle boat.

David Banner knows the correct way to spell Mississippi

My very best friend in the world is from Mississippi. And without Mississippi, Louisiana would be dead last in all the good categories and 1st in all the bad ones. :)

Nice people, but be careful of purchasing any "White Lightning" sold by little old ladies outside of Jackson. The stuff will knock you out! The price was right though.

I hate it, actually..too racist, slow, and POOR. I live in Mississippi, born and raised unfortunately...and am SERIOUSLY contemplating a PERMANENT MOVE the hell outta here!!! The blacks have a hard time prospering, but the whites have it made because they are...white. Nope, not prejudice, but I'm a black woman, and I know first hand what its like to experience racism in such a "benevolent state".....whatever...

i love Mississippi. i started to move there after high school. nice state nice people. only bad thing is south mississippi has mosquitos big as hummingbirds.

Mississippi is one of the country's best kept secrets. The person that says it is a racist state has probably not spent enough time up north. I live in MS now (whole family from MS) and I have lived all over the country. You rarely meet a stranger, almost everyone is nice and we look out for each other. If you don't like it here....GOOD!! MOVE out. We don't like you being here if you don't want to be here. I am considered a "damn yankee" (which means a yankee that moves to the south and never leaves) and I am proud of it !! Got a rebel flag in my window it stands for HERITAGE not HATE !!

Fun to spell

I'm 62 and lived here all but 10 years. Lived in Memphis those 10 years. Great place to live, but not much to see. Never heard anyone say, "going to Mississippi for my vacation!" loll..

I have seen more "racism" from the African Americans living in MS than the reverse. I heard Morgan Freeman in an interview one time say that the reason racism continues is because those that feel they are being discrimiated against continue to react the way they do. Very deep. One of the best statements I have every heard !!

It's very poor and desolate. Although, there are some good casinos in MS.
