  • YES! I can't stress this enough! Even if he lies and puts no, it WILL SHOW UP ON HIS TEN YEAR BACKGROUND CHECK!!! It's much better to be up front and honest about it. If he lies, they will can him the second it shows up!
  • but there is away around the question till atleast the job interview.... just leave that question blank becuase if u leave it blank your not lying on the app. u just missed the question and then he will be able to explain the answer in the interview but he didnt lie on the app
  • Don't lie on resumes/applications. They will find out. Especially in this case. A standard CORI search (or whatever they use in your state) will turn this conviction up immediately. And he will look much worse for lying about it than he would if listed the conviction and let them ask about it.
  • Always tell the truth. Most employers don't care about the conviction (unless it was something like embezzlement), but they do care about the truthfulness of their employees.
