You will have to do a lot of research before you do your startup, how to set up the web site and get customers, the technical know how to run the site (professional to set it up;, the business aspects of it, licensing, tax adviser, accountant, banking; and how to provide the ticketing. You should plan on at least $5,000 to start. This would be the licensing fees, the up front fees for the tax and accountant professionals, and website designer, plus the insurance and bonding agency, the bank charges to set up a business account, and the initial purchase agreements for the tickets/events. That is a very conservative figure for an experienced business person. You could get some idea of an accurate figure by working with someone who already is running a successful business. From what I see on a web search, it looks like many sites are not what I would call valid.
