  • They can only be used on the special paper that comes with the markers. They will not mark on the carpet, table, etc.
  • there are two kinds i'm thinking of, one uses special paper, and the other markers you fill up with after
  • There are two chemical phenol-formaldahyde compounds, one in the paper and one in the pen (a reactor that provides color variation). The specific compounds are patent protected. When the chemicals mix, however, they 'develop' or change color (like phenolphthalien). Because of the development process, it often takes a few seconds for the color to appear. The chemical in the marker tip doesn't react with *most* other surfaces, so the markers are generally safe from leaving marks on walls, clothing, or people, but they can harm fabrics.
  • Crayola color wonder markers are magic markers gathered in the bottom of the magical rainbow stream, in the cave of wonders. And the paper if from walls of the cave, they just flake off. B/c they are all magical and secretive they work wonders by only marking up each other, and can not change the phsical or chemical propery of anything else. I'm pretty sure J.K Rowling stumbled upon the cave first and desided to use the markers and paper for good use!
  • My concern would be that the pens melt through plastic, as I recently discovered when my daughter left the lid off one and put it in her toybox... very concerning
