How do I turn off manner mode on Verizon wireless LG cell phone?

    The * button switches it from ring to vibrate and vibrate to ring. I found a way to turn the vibrate off and on, separate from the * button
    Tuesday- by accident, I do not know how I got there. If that is used, then using the * button to set the phone to vibrate would result in nothing happening- that is why I went looking to turn the vibrate on- the Verizon Wireless salesperson did not know about the complete turn off off vibrate. Another way to go is to set the ring mode and then set the ring volume to 0, under settings and tools.
