How do weatherpeople know what day and time the seasons are going to change?

    The seasons change at the 2 equinoxes and the 2 solstices. These are calculated by the position of the stars in relation to the earth. These calculations date back to when the study of stars applied to both astronomy & astrology, so, for example, spring begins(in the Northern hemisphere)with the Vernal Equinox, when Pisces moves into Aries.
