The Air Force utilizes these Uniforms:
BDU's - Standard woodland camouflage pattern, our utility uniform
DCU's (Desert Camouflage Uniform) - 3-color desert pattern for deployments to desert theaters
-both soon to be replaced by the
ABU's or Airman Battle Uniform - A digital-tiger stripe pattern of blue, grey, green, and tan.
Flight Suit - One Piece Olive Drab uniform for all aircrews, worn with blue flight cap
Service Uniform - Blue collared shirt worn with or without a tie, tie is mandatory on long-sleeve blue shirt
Service Dress Uniform - Service uniform with added Dress Coat
Semi-Formal Dress Uniform - White shirt replaces the blue shirt, worn with Dress Coat and tie
Formal Dress Uniform - White Shirt with black bow-tie, worn with Dress Coat
Mess Dress - NCO's and above may wear this uniform. Black military tuxedo, white pleated shirt, bow-tie, mini-medals, no headgear is worn with this uniform.
For marines:
Service "C" uniform: you wear these during summer/spring garrison/peacetime
Service "D" uniform: most marine corps recruiters wear these
Service "B" uniform: winter garrison/peacetime
Service "A" uniform: worn during ceremonies or inspections and when reporting in to a unit
Dress Blues: worn during prestigious ceremonies, such as the Marine Corps Ball
Camoflauge Utility: most units wear these during work/peacetime and during training and combat
annnnnnnnnd thats about it!
2 PTU's (physical training uniform) for excersizing. grey shorts and grey shirt with "ARMY" printed on it. Grey sweatpants, and grey zip up hooded sweater with "ARMY" printed on it.
BDU's (battle dress uniform) for being in combat or doing your other jobs. even sitting behind a desk, if it is on a base and in an area where dress uniform is not needed. This has many different variations to it, many different pieces. combat boots, camo pants, brown shirt, camo shirt, camo jacket, black leather gloves, camo hat... etc.
Dress Uniform (i dont remember the real name for it, i was only in the army a few months)
Thats 3 uniforms that you get just for joining, i dont know if you get other ones as well.
But to answer your question the way my drill sgt in basic would have, "all of them".

On an old black-and-white Andy Griffith Show, an Army recruiter character wore a shoulder patch that appeared to be a yin-yang symbol. Was there ever a real Army patch like that in the U.S.?
