  • Go to "Control Panel." From there the location of the mouse/touchpad depends on the version of windows you have. But look around and when you find it, double-click it or right click on it to reactivate it.
  • did you do this by chance in msconfig? if so go back in and turn on there and it will start working also
  • Sometimes on laptops you turn the touchpad off with the function keys, try holding FN and look along the top row of your keyboard you will see the function keys, it may well be one of them (in fact it is very likely) :o)
  • i would like to click on it but cant move the mouse to the location as it wont work
  • You can use a series of keyboard strokes to get there. First, press the Windows button to activate your Start Menu. Then click the arrow buttons until you highlight the Control Panel. Press Enter. Then use the arrow buttons to highlight Mouse in the Control Panels folder that will open up. When Mouse Properties opens, you should be on the Device Select tab. Use your arrow keys again to toggle between the choices. Once you choose the Enable Device option for the TouchPad, press Tab a few times until you see it over OK or Apply. Press the Space Bar. This should help you activate your TouchPad without having to add an external mouse to your computer. Hope it helps.
