Another thing is we just aren't very logical. If you calculate the taxes you'll pay in your life, it would pay for maybe 100 feet of two-lane paved highway. (Ballpark guess.) It's only the presence of millions of other motorists that has given us millions of miles of paved, lighted, maintained, well-designed roadways with signs all over the place helping us get where we want to go. Otherwise it would just be tracks in the dirt, and almost impassable in wet weather.

  • Its much easier to get angry at a car rather than an individual. That "car" can kill you if it is not driven by a responsible person and that can make you very angry. Whenever I have caused an incident that may scare someone on the road, I have felt such remorse. I don't get how selfish drivers can get. And, its usually men. And its usually men in trucks. And its usually young men in trucks who have not suffered enough in their own lives so they are reckless and clueless assholes.

People feel more anonymous in cars. Since they figure no one will know what they did they don't feel they have to use social etiquette.

I think people that are immature take their anger and stress out on people while their driving.Proubly because, they can't find another way.

I heard that it has to do with us not being able to see each other's faces. Crowds of pedestrians do not have this characteristic problem, apparently seeing the other's face allows you both to empathize.
