I read a letters page years ago were a fan pointed out to the then creative team of the Avengers. that teams work best when the characters in the book look good together. nice ldea but the blob kind of lets it down, even though he is one of the better x-villians.

I don't think they would be very balanced. Superman isn't really all that smart. Spiderman mopes all the time about being lonely. Wolverine has anger issues. The blob would be hard to communicate with.

No, if only for the simple reason that I don't really see them being a "team". To one extent or another, they're the type that works alone. Put them together, and they'll pull each other apart, trying to do their own thing.
