This would raise the price of gas. It would force oil and distribution companies to spend more money on security and human resource costs. It might also drive some distributors out of the market.

I don't think so. I mean people will still buy gas. That won't stop anybody from selling gas. And I don't think that they are gouging profits. What exxon has 400 billion gross revenue? That hasn't gone up that much over the last 5 years. Just because the executives get like 10 million dollars each won't make much difference. It's a drop in the bucket. Besides, most executives make their most of their money off of stock options. If there was some scandal and the stock price plummeted, that wouldn't lower the price of gas. It's supply and demand. The US is need more oil then before with the same amount of oil. And lots of developing countries are using tons of oil as well, again, with out that much more supply.

WAKE UP AMERICA. We are controlled by foreign oil and not the American Oil Companies that everyone loves to blame. Our liberal congress will not allow us to drill on our own soil because of preservation of an animal that we will never see. The fact is, that animal that they are trying to protect will do fine. The area in which we need to drill is only a minute fraction of the overall wilderness that is around. I believe the numbers are that we need to drill in 2,000 acres in a 9,000,000 acre area. We have got to drill in our own country if we are ever to see lower prices again. Think about it logically. We get the majority of our oil from abroad. The oil companies abroad are business people. There is a hugh demand for their product and a limited supply. By limiting how much they produce will dictate the price. Supply and Demand. When we drill our own oil we can reduce our dependence and control our cost. Our liberal media and congress is so out of control right now that if we don't start to wake up, we will all be dependent on government for every facit of our lives. Is that what they want? I think it is. What comes next? Does the government ration how much gas we can have? and if we go over that amount will we have to pay higher taxes? Amazing how many cutbacks companies have to do whentimes are tough, but do you ever see government layoffs or cutbacks? NO. It is spend more and tax more, ALWAYS. WAKE UP AMERICA.
