You're reading My g/f and I want to get engaged in 3 months when she turns 18. Her guardians want to move to Nebraska, but she has been a NY citizen all her life. Can she still move out, or leave Nebraska legally so we can live together and get married without issues?

Hi Admiral Sir John, thanks for your answer. Are you sure about your answer? I got some hits online that says the laws in Nebraska are age 19 there for them. Wich is why I lean on the status of her NY state residence. She is still in NY state now, but I don't know what happens if she sets foot into Nebraska. Either way come sept 1st she turns 18. So we're trying to bide our time and stall or get a loophole. Any advice would be great, thanks.

You are correct. The legal age is 19 in Nebraska. The only thing I can suggest is that she petitions the court for juvenile emancipation. Either that, or wait another year.
