What is a good way for a tenor voice to begin his training in singing?

    The best way is to practice. If you want to further your education in voice, I would suggest taking voice lessons, or enroll in choir at a local college or highschool if applicable. The best thing to do, is test your range, make sure you are a tenor. Some tenors can actually sing comfortable as a Bass or Baritone. Start by doing scales or other warm ups to exersize your voice. Your vocal chords are indeed muscles and you want to warm them up before trying anything to difficult. Like singing too high, or too much. Find a book at a music store for beginners. You'll find it very rewarding I gaurantee it.

    I would suggest doing breathing excersizes. Such as palloties (dont know spelling). Where you breath quickly in and out through your nose like a dog but not through your mouth. (almost like panting) it tightens your abs, which you use A LOT while singing. It also helps you breathe better while singing. the more breathing excersizes you do, the longer you can hold a note. and the clearer your sound will be. Breathing in 3 times holding it for a few seconds and a long exhale is good as well.

    Vocal exersizes are a great way to begin also. Such as wailing really high pitched. This is especially affective for tenors and sopranos. Almost like a cry, start REALLY high as HIGH as you can go and glide down I can't really explain it.But its very effective.

    Standard scales can be very boring, but very helpful in pitch recognition. Helping your voice pinpoint the pitch. Tuning each note. Do them over and over.

    Again, I suggest getting a book of excersizes at a music store!
