  • He must have some redeeming qualities in him, it's just that they're very hard to see nowadays. I liked the young Tyson, the much-feared and cocky fighter. Even though he had a troubled past he seemed focused and his fights were a can't-miss event to me. Then he gradually but completely lost it and later became a caricature of himself, I lost respect for him.
  • Bad no. Bad Ass, yes. Even though he`s a tub of lard now I still wouldn't mess with him.
  • Do you know that early in his career, one day after a fight, he went with a friend and beat up someone on the streets...just for the fun of it? Yes, he is a bad person, probably a little retarded and also a victim of abuse.
  • Sort of, he is bipolar so it's hard to say he is completely responsible for his actions.
  • I'm sure he's just misunderstood. After all it's hard to hear him once he's torn your ear off.
  • I don't think he's a bad person. I just think he's crude and not too bright. Lol.
  • No i thought he was a good boxer in his time :)
  • Belligerent, disrespectful, criminal, an equal opportunity person abuser, mean, etc. How many bad qualities does one have to have to be considered a "bad person"? That's enough by my count-bi polar or not.
  • Just misunderstood. but still keep out of biting range.
  • No, I think Don King is a bad person. Don King did everything possible to push the people that cared about Mike Tyson out of his life. He would make sure that Mike was taken off his medication a week before a fight, so that by fight time, he was nothing but an angry animal. He was never very bright, and was not able to see what was happening. Blinded by money and glory. Mike Tyson was exploited and turned into what he became. I actually feel sorry for him. He was used to make a lot of money, but when it all fell apart, they just threw him to the wolves and didn't look back. And I was watching the Holyfield fight where he bit his ear. Throughout the fight, Holyfield was fighting cheap. Always clinching, headbutting, etc. He's a dirty fighter, always was. Now think about Tyson... bi-polar, off his meds, not very smart, getting very, very frustrated. What he did wasn't right, but I understand the frustration that drove him to that point. He was the better fighter, anyone could have seen that. Tyson was never one to cheat in the ring. How frustrated do you get when you're playing a sport with someone when they're taking every opportunity to break and exploit the rules and you're just trying to play it straight?
  • I think his mind is scrambled and because of that he has done some bad things! :)
  • I ear bad things about him. He likes to get into random fights and rape women. That sounds like a class guy all around.
  • I think he went to jail because he raped someone. My brother met him many years ago. He came to my community to buy a sports car. I don't know him personally so I can't make a true assessment. I don't think he is a cannibal because he bit someone's ear, just a lousy boxer.
  • I don't know about now, but Tyson clearly was a very bad person in his younger days. he used to offer to carry old ladies groceries for them and then beat them up for their money. if i had to bet, i'd bet 100,000 thats hes still pretty bad.
  • I don't know. I didn't really pay much attention to him or any of his actions, but I can say the only thing I thought that he really did wrong was bite that one guy's ear off. That's some pretty intense stuff right there..
  • No, but I wouldn't want to be near him without having my ears covered.
  • Don't know, and even if I did don't really figure I am one to judge. However I don't believe I would be too harsh to say misguided, inmature and not really a shinning example to anything good unless we need another example of how to screw up what a life if not several. My impression is based on secoond hand information at the most so I would not be willing to throw him into the eternal fires.
  • He is mentally unstable. He used to be able to fight and was fearsome but his temperament got away from him.
  • Define "Bad Person". If we're asking whether or not I would want to argue alone in a room with Iron Mike Tyson, my answer would of course be absolutely not. Does that mean that I do not trust him? Yes. Is he then a bad person? Well, he was raised by the streets until he met up with his trainer and is also a very emotional individual. Mike Tyson has a lot of anger but he has never murdered anyone nor has he ever presented a very serious threat to anyone he has encountered outside the ring. I believe that until someone takes that step over into the badlands, it would be unfair for us to view them as a bad person.
  • Mike Tyson is probably neither a good or a bad person...but he does seem to have rather strange tastes.
  • Mike Tyson is one of my characters of all times. I think he did a great job selling his fights and promoting his events but I don't think anyone in the general public knows the man well enough to judge if he's a good person or not
  • Yes! Any man who has no respect for women or men is bad.
  • I wouldnt say that he is a bad person just a little crazy lol
