Although I was only bulimic for a few months, not really long enough for it to be a chronic thing, I can tell you this much from my own experience: 1- Bulimia is an addictively self-destructive behaviour, so stopping after so long is probably going to have to involve some kind of therapy/help. 2- It is *Very* important to resolve the issues behind it, rather than just the habit. Most bulimics start because they feel very stressed and bad about themselves, so it would definitely help to pinpoint why exactly you started, and try to resolve those issues. 3- Find a reason. If you're happy with your life and yourself, it becomes much easier to overcome. Above all though, it just comes down to stopping. The most important step to recovering from your bulimia is making the conscious effort to simply not do it anymore, and as much as therapy and self-exploration can help, you can't stop unless you're fully prepared to make that choice.

My advise would be to see a Gastroenterologist who may be able to teach you exercises to strengthen the muscles that were weakened. Best wishes.

I think you have to concentrate whenever you feel it coming. I know habits are hard to break when they become automatic. I'm sorry I'm not more of a help to you. I wish I had a magic answer to help you.

Your probably going to have to go to a treatment center. you'll have to learn how to eat properly all over again. they will start you off slow. I used to have a ED, and I've seen bulimics going through this process, it helps them. You'll have to want to do it youself though, the result will depend on you.
