  • It depends. Some states don't go outside of their own state at all. Other states have a reciprocity between them and they check neighboring states records. There is a good chance of it given NY & NJ proximity and many people commute between the two states. Call the county clerk of the courts where you got the DUI and just ask them. You don't have to give your name. That said, seriously - stop drinking and driving. Worry more about your health and safety and well-being and that of those who share the road with you rather than your punishment. One DUI might be chalked up to as a mistake. Two is a pattern and shows you need help. The court will go easier on you if you start attending AA meetings NOW and enroll in an outpatient treatment program.
