There are several programs that will burn DVDs, but none are free (legally, that is). Personally, I use Nero. http://www.nero.com

DVD Shrink works well. There is also DVD Fab. I use them intermittently w/NERO burning software.

Lots of them. Go to http://www.download.com and search for what you want. You can make it only show free programs (though some lie)

The more "features" a burning utility has, the more of your system resources it consumes. For this reason I avoid all the commercial burners. They all start processes (small programs that run in memory) every time you boot your system, whether you plan to burn a disc or not. This wastes CPU cycles. I like the minimalist approach. I've recently discovered InfraRecorder. As someone else posted, it's published under the GNU-GPL, free public license. You can see the list of features and download it here: http://infrarecorder.org/
