The battle rifle is hands down the best all around weapon because as Gizzy says it's great for long, medium, and short range. However, if you want the best combo then add the plasma pistol to the battle rifle. Charge the plasma pistol up then fire it immediately at enemies. Their shield will completely drop and it'
s easy to hit them because the plasma pistol has a tracking device on it just like the needler. As soon as you release the plasma pistol shot, quickly switch to battle rifle. One more shot and the enemy is toast.

I think that the best for close range is the Grav Hammer cuz it can take out multiple enemies at once. And for medium has to be the carbine then long range/ Beam Rifle overall I say the sentinal beam.

You're ALL idiots. The needler?!?! Are you serious?? The needler might just be the worst weapon. The best, BY FAR is the sniper. If you're good enough (I'm good, but not great) the snipe is good at all distances. How in the world does a needler EVER kill a sniper on Valhalla??? never. that's when.

Don't know the best weapon, but the most powerful is the Spartan laser. Sniper for long range, rocket launcher for medium... not close range. People have proof that doesnt turn out good. Shotgun, grav hammer, or sword for close range.

For me it its da Battle Rifle, BR r da best especially if u r gud in throwing grenades. A gud combo with BR is da AR or Sniper Rifle. For close range I would prefer a mauler or mauler wth plasma pistol or just Energy sword(i hate Gravity Hammer). As for spartan laser....I only use them if there r vehicles 2 eliminate or a sniperer to kill(if i dont have a sniper myself)

It all depends on combination. Like if you have a plasma pistol with a BR, you can use the plasma pistol at full charge to take down their shields and then a well-placed BR shot to the head will take them right out. My favorite single weapon though is the Carbine. It's great for headshots.

Okay.....the br is a real nice weapon,all u have 2 do is hit the enemy with a grenade than one shot 2 da head with da br and it will be game over......but in reality if u are good enuf with the sniper u culd beat any weapon with it.as long as u kno how to no scope u will be ok....so I have 2 say the sniper.....

i love the gravity hammer. my brother likes the carbine, but my other brother's favorite is the energy sword. But, what i think is that the best weapon is you(master chief). you can steal the wraith if your fast and uncareful. One more thing, if you kill the arbiter, you can take his sword or carbine. he takes whatever weapon you leave next to him.

Covenant Carbine, for flavor. Only gotten 25 kills with it though, as compared to 214 with the Battle Rifle. But that's most likely just because you often start with the Battle Rifle. No, the Carbine is the best.

Options:
If you are going to go long-ranged, get the snipers (sniper rifle, carbine)
If you are going to go close-ranged, get a shotgun, energy-sword (rare)
For both- the BR
The assault rifle is only if you can't find any other good weapon and its just a, well.. assault rifle
The shotgun is better for close-ranged and sneaking up on people and shooting them :D
The sniper...just snipe them from a VERY good hiding spot
The rocket is purposely used for vehicles, especially Scorpians, Banshees, Elephants, Wraiths, and some other crazy vehicle
(IM NOT GOING THROUGH ALL THE WEAPONS CUZ ITS A WASTE O' TIME :D)
If you're bad at aiming with the rocket, find a missile pod, it has a homing detecting thingy
