Because they CAN! Sorry, not so helpful, but wouldn't you? I mean if you were a rock star? Being a rock star is all about getting noticed. A beautiful person on your arm helps with that.

It is just like the football players in highschool that date all the cheerleaders. It is just two groups that naturaly go together. It is the way that our society is. Those two groups or people are considered the "higher ups" so to speak. So they want to be with people in there same level. It makes them feel better about themselves, while most people look up to them and wish they could be in that group as well. EDIT How could I possibly get a bad rating for this???

Well, you can only fall in love with folks you know and folks you know tend to be those who share your social and/or business environment. Performers (and modelling is a performing art, after all) tend to spend a good deal of time with other performers; so what better environment in which to meet someone who shares and understands your career activities and aspirations, increasing their suitability as a life mate? Why models and not other musicians? There aren't that many female rock stars, are there, compared to male ones? If you are implying that he seems to have sold out on his original social activist stance , I can't say that I blame you. He let the Bank of Montreal in Canada, one of our 5 largest banks, use The Times They Are A-Changin' in one of their TV commercials a few years back for goodness' sake!! I still like the music, though.

I totally agree with yohoho05 (and Bobby, geez, what was up with that Victoria's Secret commercial?? You dirty old man, you. lol) but I want to add something else: A lot of creative types were outcasts when they were young. They were nerdy, or weird, or in trouble a lot, or just introverted. They probably didn't get to date the pretty girls at first, or endured a lot of rejection. For sure you endure a lot of rejection when you start out as a musician as it usually takes a long time to "make it". So perhaps the best revenge, in the end, is to hook up with women who are (supposedly) the most beautiful in the world! It's great for your ego (a lot of those artistic egos are fragile) and great revenge against all the jocks who used to get the pretty girls. ;) Also, some people are just shallow. Plenty of average guys would marry a model if they could regardless of what's between her ears. Not to tar all models with the same brush, but looks aren't everything. Anyway, I think it's understandable that these guys would go after models.. whether that's a GOOD idea is another question. Just look at Billy Joel! Then again, David Bowie and Iman are a pretty awesome couple, and it seems to be working out for Seal and Heidi Klum, so it's not always a disaster.

There's a lot of answers here that are on the strange side... I think that many artists (not ALWAYS musicians) marry models because models are gernerally on the good looking side. If you had a choice of marrying a super model, would you? I should think the answer would, 9 times out of 10, be yes! You know, you dont go along thinking about how the girl might share your interest in creative arts! It's all about if she shares your interest in bed.

The short answer--follow the money.

They are always on the road and they probably don't want someone with depth that they would have a strong connection with. They would miss them too much.
