wear it and wear itproud!
I would think it's perfect!
I tell my clients... the shorter the skirt the lower the heal.
20 " is not too short unless you feel uncomfortable in it, or you need to know if it is appropiate for where you are wearing it ( ie work/social).
If all else fails wear stocking ( yes stocking) that is close to the color of the skirt or if not a more muted color...you are minimizing the length and giving it an overall look.
Good luck.
I am a few years older than that and I still wear skirts above my knees, still gets looks everynow and then,,,
I think it is about proportion and your overall height. If you are short, then 20" is probably fine, if you are 5'10", then 20" might be mid thigh. Depending on the situation, that might be too short. I am 5'1", and usually wear my skirts 2-4" above my knee. Depending on whether it has a high or low waist, the skirt length could vary.
I dont think so. Like others said if you feel comfortable in how you feel in 20" skirts than wear them.I have never liked long skirts on me so I always wear them on the shorter side.
If it looks good on you then I see no problem.
Fact from fiction, truth from diction. They have said the 50s and 60s are the new 30s, If you have the body to wear it well and look good, go for it. Don't let people pigeon hole you into thinking you need to dress like a librarian or something. Channel Tina Turner.
Too short for what?
I wouldn't wear it to church, to a job interview, or, say, to play football... but to go out to dinner it would be fine.
It's not about age, but proportion. If your legs are relatively short, then that's a good length, but if your legs are longer, then to the knee is best.
I think your age is much less important than how they look (for example, Tina Turner) ... if you've got nice legs, show them off regardless of your age ... if you've got cellulite, jiggly fat, or varicose veins, PLEASE cover 'em up ...
If you have the legs, go for it.
Most certainly not......I thinks its just right , shorter if you dare........
My wife is nearly 50 and she wears 18inch skirts.
My FB wears a lot shorter skirts too, but that a different reason.......LOL
If you have the legs for it, then no, it's not too short. I wouldn't go anyplace formal with one quite that short (depending on how tall you are, too), but I fully expect to be right there with you wearing short skirts in my 50s.
If you are comfortable wearing it, wear it
age doesn't mater if you have good legs then 20" is to long..
I'm a 55 year old guy and I have no problem wearing denim mini skirts, so I don't see any problem with you wearing one
If you like the way you look in it, wear it. If you get unpleasant looks from people you might not like the way you feel in it.

You're reading Is a skirt 20" in length too short for a woman of 53? It's certainly not a mini but it's not knee length either. Thanks, Norma.
