Help answer this question below.

Do you know of a DVD player that will play a DVD from the UK? I think I need what is called an all region DVD player- or is there software that you can install on your PC to play it?

    As US DVDs are region 1 and the UK ( and Europe ) is region 2 you do need a multi region dvd player, which are easy to find on sites like this http://www.world-import.com/dvd.htm

    Or this site gives details of software for yuour PC to play any region DVDs.

    Actually there are some DVD players that you can select 0 (zero) as the region and it will play all DVDs. I am NOT an expert but I have DVDs from out of the USA and can only play them on an inexpensive DVD player I purchased specifically because you can go into the menu and select 0 for region. It's a Cyber Home CHDVD-300. Hope this helps!

    I have owned two all-region DVD players, for I own many foreign movies from Japan, China, Germany, France, etc. One was a JVC and the new one is a Panasonic. Europe and Japan are in Region 2, and the USA is in Region 1, so you need an all-region player if you live in the USA and want to play normal British DVDs. I found on the computer some codes to use for some models of players to convert them, but none worked on my three Sony players, so I found an all-region Panasonic player at amazon.com. Just do a search there and you should find several of them. You can also play DVDs on most computers that will convert the regional codes for you.
