  • Not as far as I know! : )
  • Only if you really want them to. lol. No, they are not biters, at least here in the UK they dont :o)
  • No...But he can gum us...
  • They can't penetrate our skin so don't worry. They're also the most venomous spiders i Ireland which isn't saying much
  • they can try but their fangs are too small and weak to even come close to puncturing your skin
  • No, they may slober on ya alittle but their fangs arent even close to long enough to actually bite you :)
  • i was washing windows yesterday at work when it felt like there was a drill being pushed into a cut that i had on my shin, i looked down and there was a daddy longlegs biting me, i flicked him off quickly and my wound still stings after 3 days. They can puncture soft skin on wounds, and the actual bite area turned my cut from red to purple.
  • I have always been told that their fangs are too short to penetrate skin. I have also been told they are the most poisonous spider in the world.
  • Hell Yes! Cant tell though, its not that bad to humans, however, very poisonous to other bugs!
  • Their mouth parts/fangs are too short to penetrate our skin. They can stink, though. Ugh!
  • Yes they definitely can. It's a myth that they can't. It was proven on a special on the Discovery Channel, & it's also a myth that they have extremely toxic venom. My 2 year old daughter picked up a cellar spider (what you guys call "daddy long leg spiders") & it bit her so hard that the bite was bleeding for about 1/2 hr. We have a type of especially large cellar spider ("daddy long leg spider") out here in PA. I think the smaller types of this spider would be a bit too small for the fangs to puncture a human's skin, though. Just watch out for the large ones!!! ***Also, it is important to remember not to confuse the cellar spider (aka "daddy long leg spider" aka "vibrating spider") with the actual creature called the daddy long legs which is really a type of arachnid called "harvestmen", which do not have webs or fangs.
  • they are able to bite, but don't usually...it takes a lot to aggravate them... they are not poisonous to humans either...
  • Yes they can, although their venom is not toxic to humans. There is the myth that their fangs are too short, but that's exactly what it is, a myth.
  • Apparently from the answers here there is much confusion. Some daddy long leg varieties can bite but many cannot.
  • yes, but it is rare, they aren't very agressive and to most ppl it is harmless
