There is some evidence to suggest that accupunture in general has some benefit, particularly when the person on the receiving end truely believes in the process. However, the forbidden point when you trap all of the bodies blood in the head causing paralysis and death, is a myth.

Acupuncture is one method of Chinese medicine which utilises various points on the body, treating them with needles. Acupressure does the same thing but without needles. Martial artists refer to these commonly as pressure points. The harmful points are the same as the healing points they are just applied differently, sort of like using prescription medication in a harmful way.
The kiss of the dragon technique in the movie was made up for the movie.

No, it certainly does NOT work like it's shown in the Jet Li movie. Accupuncture is only placebo, so it doesn't heal or kill anyone. I tried it some years ago, so I know it doesn't work. I had some sick spells, and I went to Drs. Yang and Fei for accupuncture. They asked me some questions and were excited when I said I drank some liquor on weekends. They felt my "pulses" and stuck needles in the inside area of my knee. That's the liver path. Dr. Garza had me take X-rays and CAT scans. He found I had gallstones, not liver problems.

i dont think any such point exists.
however you can kill a person by stopping the blood flow to his head by by blocking the carotid arteries each located on the side of the neck.
practically blocking a artery to kill a person isnt possible.
but you can block it temporarily
in the movie also when jet li fights the black bouncer and punches him on the side of his neck. that was the place where carotid artery is located.
if he had used his fingers to hit the bouncer on the artery he would have have not been able to get up for quite some time
