The thinking is different behind the two systems of pay, so naturally the attitude of the employee will differ. A worker paid by the hour thinks in terms of an hour and works in step with the clock. A worker who is paid a salary is expected to think in terms of the job...the whole job. They are expected to work until the job is done, not work until the shift is done. The trade off for the higher expectation is higher pay.
