There is no credible evidence that explosives brought down the WTC towers. I would highly recommend the NIST website that addresses many of these "theories": http://wtc.nist.gov/pubs/factsheets/faqs_8_2006.htm Popular Mechanics also came up with some very good debunking of the conspiracy theories as well, although I don't have that website handy. For a 9/11 conspiracy theory that is just about as credible as the other, more popular ones out there, I'd recommend this one: http://media.boredatwork.com/moosechange/ .

To cling to conspiracy theories only adds to the horror of the people who lost their loved one's in the tragedy! For all those who believe our government "of the people" is so powerful they could pull something like this off, I suggest you look at all the stuff that never gets done by our government in a timely manner! Considering this fact, each administration always suffers decisions made by the previous ones. So who would be to blame for this supposed lie and what would be the reason? Remember, the people in office, regardless of their party, aren't all that smart! Of course, they might be in a position of power, able to make things happen, but this involve other people too, and people talk. Eventually. Edit: Certainly, there should be a "truth seeking mission" but if you believe silly conspiracy theories about 9/11, including whether it was an airplane that actually crashed into the Pentagon (!), will help us learn the facts, you are sadly mistaken. Yes, the horror of the day's events should be enough to move people to seek justice. But then, that too is the American way. Let someone else take care of it. Like the citizens who don't vote, but complain about how things are. Well, you've got to use the crappy system to change it! Oh, they've got good reasons for not participating. They say: "It doesn't do any good anyway." Whether any conspiracy theory serves to get things done is doubtful. Most are based on questions with few or fragment answers, about things no one could possibly answer with an absolute certainty. But for those who care to ponder OR who simply cannot accept what is known as fact, it's what keeps a good conspiracy going strong. You know there are still stories about the USA not ever landing on the moon? Imagine how much that must have cost us to pay off Russia for letting us pretend we were there and keeping them from going or challenging us . . . What are the true motives of those so hell-bent on "discovery" or all-out attempts to discredit any official or expert in their field? Who are these people anyway and their creditials? At what point do you finally realize it is what it is and refuse to play into someone else's endless goings on about things no living person would know about September 11th? As I said before, no matter the party or level, whether it be federal or state level, our government is 'of the people' which means they are like us, but with some power. Don't be fooled into believing that power means any of them are smart enough to have pulled off whatever you believe really happened . . .

I find that been given URL's that have biased opinons depending on where one stands on the issue not very usefull. It is easy to put labels on people, such as conspiracy theorists, and write them of as loonies. It is easy to do but not responsible thinking. There is always two sides to a story. It is always easy to listen to the news and say"your right" then stop thinking for yourself.Investigate all avenues before making your own minds. The greatest minds of our times disagreed with the status quo,and have brought much good to mankind.

I don't think that they didn't know about the bombs. I think it went like this: 1) Terrorists planned the attack. 2) US intelligence found out and created a report for the White House. 3) The government planted the bombs in the buildings. 4) The planes hit, the bombs were detonated, and the buildings came down. Evidence for the explosion-theory are abounding. Here are a few interesting ones: 1) Guliani knew that the buildings were coming down. 2) Countless New Yorkers report hearing explosions right before the buildings fell. 3) The official explanation states that the buildings fell because the steel beams [edit] weakened and gave way. However, steel melts at 2700 degrees Fahrenheit and the sparse, open-air fires shown in the 9/11 videos couldn't have reached more than 1200. I've heard no New Yorker report feeling intense heat during the attack. 4) Many of the buildings directly below the towers were damaged but remained intact, but WTC Building 7 fell, although it was farther away. It was evacuated at 9am that day, unlike the towers, where workers were encouraged to go back to work because it wasn't that big of a deal (as they thought at that moment). Here are two sources, although there are probably hundreds more like it: http://tinyurl.com/292ram http://tinyurl.com/26ja5u http://tinyurl.com/odgpd Wanting to hear evidence for the truth is commendable. It does not in any way disgrace or discredit those who died that day. In fact, it honors them. Get the evidence and think for yourself in every matter. [edit: The first link in ItsJustDon's answer provides articulate opposition to the my answer's (3) and (4). I don't think Popular Mechanics has much authority on the subject, however.]

No! They were the ones that *planted* the epxlosives there in the first place!! Why do you think all the rubble from that day was hauled off as quickly as possible and shipped overseas to be melted down and recycled without a proper crime scene investigation? Scary as that may seem, it's true. Hasn't anyone seen Loose Change? Google it!
