What's the best way to not get your hair wet in the shower even if your hair still gets a little wet even when you use a shower cap?

I put a cloth headband around my hair before the shower cap. It gets slightly wet, but my hair stays dry.

Well, this may sound stupid, but I have relatively new Dreadlocks (note: not the ones in my profile pic, they're my old dreads, these are shorter) and so I can't get them wet in the shower unless I'm washing them, so I tend to wear a wooly hat over my head with them all tucked inside. Yes, you feel stupid, but any stray splashing or accidental-wetting that may occur is 95% caught by the wool.
