Low lung capacity mainly. They can't make the notes since it takes a lot of lung power to play the tuba. Little girls aren't up to the challenge.

it is too big and there lips would not fit the tuba well although some girls do play.

They can't lift it and most little girls don't like German drinking songs.

It's usually too big for them to reach the mouthpiece, and kind of heavy. Although I do know this girl who plays bass clarinet, and she just reaches the mouthpiece, but can still play it.

They do! Theres a girl in my band who doesn't even come up to my shoulder and she plays the tuba! I don't have a picture of her... but walla!
