when I have to rest after walking to the bathroom, when I have to use a cane to stand up, when I have nothing better to do than walk a mall at 4 in the morning and fall asleep on a bench, when I have to mainline viagra, when I have to ask people my own name, when I think polyester is fashionable, when I have more hair growing out of my ears and nose than on my head I might...I just might consider myself old

The thing is, that I believe that there is a spiritual me and a physical me. The spiritual me is the real me and is forever 20 something but the physical me, is just the vehicle by which I am able to access this world and it is getting old, some day it will not exist. Someday I'm sure my spiritual me, will find itself trapped in the old decrepit physical me and will feel very frustrated. At what physical age will that be? I don't know maybe 60ish/70ish. My Great Grandma lived to be 95 and she always would say that she felt like she did when she was in her teens, but then she would look in the mirror and see her physical self which was 95 and unable to do a lot of things. If you were to be able to speak to her and never see her in person, you wouldn't have thought of her as old.

the shell we call a body is old when it stops functioning properly- around 70 to 90, our spirits are infinitely young (around 23)
