In Feng Shui, a Chinese system of positioning objects, mirrors have special properties. According to Feng Shui, you should only put a mirror at the foot of the bed if you can use it to see things like a door or a window. Here's an explanation of the relationship between Feng Shui, mirrors, and bad luck: http://fengshui.about.com/od/decoratingresources/f/fsmirrors.htm re: window/mirror position I'm not an expert on this, and I haven't seen the room, but the way you describe it, it sounds exactly how you would want to position a mirror. The issue with mirror position is that it should allow energy to circulate in and out of the room -- and not get stuck in the room. Sounds like whatever energy is drawn into your room through the window, will be reflected right back out by the mirror. I have to say, at the risk of being struck down by bad energies, that this "mirror" concept is more psychological than anything else -- the fact is that you will feel safer in your bed, if you can see what's happening on the other side of the window, and therefore you will sleep better. It's a common sense approach that applies visualization techniques to put unconscious primal fears to rest.
