If you hook up in series circuit two 4 ohm speakers you will now have 8 ohms impedance. If you hook up a speaker rated at half the impedance it will make the amp work "hotter" and could damage the unit. There are two ways to hook up speaker Parallel and series Parallel is hooking all the +'s together and the -'s together in series you want to go from + on one speaker to - on the other this leaves one + terminal free on one speaker and a + terminal on the other these are the terminals to use when connecting to TV you will need to use both 4 ohm speakers to make 8 ohms impedance
