I HAD A 97 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX AND AROUND 70,000 MILES I STARTED TO GET A RUBBING-GRINDING SOUND IN THE ENGINE. ONE DAY THE CAR SHUT OFF AND WOULDNT START. I WAS ABLE TO START IT BUY JUMPER CABLES, BUT THE ENGINE WAS REAL LOUD LIKE GRINDING- ANY CLUES?

Talk to a professional mechanic. Don't try any home repairs without knowing what your doing. You could damage the car worse. P.S Don't use caps lock.

holy shit try not to drive it it might make it worse my guess is that the ball bearing slipped and broke loose so you'll need 2 replace that and a new belt
