Is it ok to wear linen slacks or a linen sport coat to an early fall outdoor event like a beach wedding?

    Yes, because linen is a more casual type of clothing and suitable for something such as a beach wedding.

    As a side note, you may wish to ask the bride and groom if there's a strict dress code and ask him or her or both parties if they would mind you wearing linen.

    Just be careful not to get it dirty because linen is an expensive garment to dry clean.

    Yes... I would advise that you do. Linen is perfect for spring until fall and for casual to semiformal. That only thing with it is that linen should't be worn baggy.
