I have berber inside my liviing room, and dining room, and bedroom its more of a close looped kind of wrong that is highly durable and very easy to clean. Its amazing for stains they clean up so easy without damaging the carpet, they also come in different textures, check out a carpet store and look at the displays. I purchased my 14 years ago when it was a fresh new item and it still looks new. Extremely durable.

There is a new berber carpet that has been on the market for a couple yr's that is made of recycled 2 liters plastic soda bottles. It looks and feels the same as a wool berber carpet. It is bleach resistant, bleach will not disclolor the carpet. The only drawback is heavy furniture on legs leave pot marks in the carpet and the tend not to come out unless you use a heavy duty carpet padding.

A berber carpet is popular in Europe. It is more durable because the weave of the carpet is different of that of the north american style. The fibers are cut at the top in the north american style. In the berber the fibers are interwoven sideways with each other. I much more durable way to design a carpet.

Berber is a good carpet if it is installed right. If it is not it is the worst carpet ever. If you get a loose string anywhere GLUE it down if it gets caught in the vaccum it will unravel half of the room before you can stop it.
