In a doctor supervised setting 2-3 lbs a week was considered realistic and sustainable for a man in his ate 20 to early thirties,,So your rate is a bit aggressive, but might be do-able, if not the wisest choice.

It is not my rate, if you read what I say , I say that it is TWICE the rate advised but would be possible.
