The pond behind my work has 5 alligators in it. Lately a company has been going out there & spraying a chemical to kill the plant life & algae in the water. Is this harmful to the gators & other wildlife that live by the pond?

My 55 gallon tank has developed a recurring buildup of light brown mucously slime in the filters, I replace/clean the filters weekly but it keeps coming back. It doesn't look like algae. What is it and how do I get rid of it?

Can I use a log that used to have a snake on it in my fish tank? I put it in there and the water turned green. Any thoughts?

You're reading I have a hard algae growing on the tank sides and rocks that my algae eater won't eat and I can't scrape off. I don't want it to etch my new tank! What can I do?

What fish do you have? do you have any in that tank? If you have rather big fish they should eat some algae, and also if your snail might be eating something else.
